Another tip to add to all the useful pearls of wisdom already imparted in this blog.

Don't try and edit the default FRONTPAGE feed that gets installed, changes don't seem to work. If you don't want it just unpublish it (you can't delete it either).

It took me a while to figure out why my 'News' feed wasn't working (i'd just edited the FRONTPAGE one to point to my desired category) - as soon as I created a new one - hey presto working like a dream.

I'm using the feed in conjunction with Twitterfeed.com to push our website news items to our club Twitter account @odcc.

I took about 20 minutes to get it working - including the localhost sandbox install and test. Many thanks and Happy New Year :)

Love the extension and your comments. I am running in to 1 problem, it is not grabbing my latest updates for the RSS feed I created. What setting I am missing?

I'm so embarrassed, please ignore my previous post (not the part where it said how great your step by step is ;)).
As many of my 'hit the wall moments' with Joomla, it all came down to proper reading;
Make a custom html module in v1.5...don't pick any of the prefab ones
..done..working like a charm!.. thanks again for this.
